My entry for the Let's Draw Sherlock challenge - reinterpreting famous works. I chose Michelangelo's Dying Slave. I didn't have any particular symbolism in mind, it's just that I enjoy imagining Sherlock as marble statues (after the Buckingham Palace I can't help but keep putting his face onto these beauties). There's something of a statue in Sherlock though, isn't there?! Well... Lineart mostly done on paper, edited and coloured in PS CS5. The wallpaper pattern can be found here [link]. Dear Gala:

This is Indy. Greetings from Canada!! I hope this finds you and yours well.

Benedict/Sherlock is quite the work of art, isn't he? You have done wonderfully with this work!!! There have been other instances where the thought of Benedict/Sherlock has been interpreted as historical artwork. In my files, I've a picture of Benedict being compared to Michelangelo's David (fig leaf optional. ;)) There's a tale at fanfiction.net entitled simply as "Sherlock Holmes." He is a statue of exquisite beauty, and the story goes that for this statue to come to life, he must find his true love. Years later, along comes John...and you can probably guess what happens.

Keep up the good work, kiddo!!!

Believing in Sherlock Holmes always,

Indy.
